“Spinning Wheel”, a composition for tabla and piano, was a finalist for the 2024 Henfrey Composition Prize and was originally performed by Shahbaz Hussain and Helen Anahita Wilson (https://www.helenanahitawilson.com/). It examines the concept of the spinning wheel at many different levels; rhythmic, political, quotidian, cosmic. It is also an experiment in notating and communicating musical structures across different cultural traditions.
